Coyote sighting

FYI, there have been several sightings of coyotes in the neighborhood. Most recently a pair of them on the South West corner of Bridgeview Drive near the end of Ash street at about 7pm.

Please be aware and watch your children and pets. Report any aggressive coyote encounters to the County of San Diego Department of Wildlife Services, at 1-800-486-0010

What to Do if You Encounter an Aggressive Coyote:

  • Make Loud Noises: Yell, clap, blow a whistle, or use a noise maker to scare the coyote away.
  • Make Yourself Look Bigger: Wave your arms or stand tall. Back Away Slowly: Don’t run, as this can trigger a chase response. Contact Authorities: If a coyote seems aggressive or unafraid of people, contact local animal control or wildlife agencies immediately.

    Prevent Coyote Conflicts:
  • Don’t Feed Coyotes: This can desensitize them to humans and make them less fearful.
  • Secure Food Sources: Store trash, birdseed, and pet food properly to prevent attracting coyotes.
  • Keep Pets Indoors or on Leashes: Avoid letting pets roam freely, especially at night.
  • Be Cautious at Night:/Dusk Coyotes are more active at night, so be extra vigilant during those hours.
